Mary Maloney Diary Entry

They finally left.
Dumb I call them. Those doofus unknowningly ate up their own evidence. Yes, it was right under their nose, and they were stupid enough to miss it. Detectives eh? You find the weapon, you find the man. Well, if you don't find the weapon, you don't find the man. Or rather, the woman.
I killed him with our supper.
I killed him with a lamb leg.
And the detectives ate the evidence up for me.
It wasn't that hard. I just went up to him and swung it at his head.
Perhaps I used too much force. I didn't intend to kill him at first. Too bad. Come to think of it, killing him wasn't such a bad idea after all! What's more, it seems that I'll get away scott free this time.
The very second Patrick came home I already sensed that the atmosphere was sour. He didn't talk much, and rudely rejected when I offered to get him more drink, or his slippers. It wasn't like him. But I assumed he was just tired. Well, I was wrong. Nothing was right that evening. My husband suggesting a divorce with me, me killing my once-beloved- husband...
Serve Patrick right. God bless his soul. It was his fault he landed up sprawling on the floor with no heartbeat anyway. My baby will be unharmed this way. With the lack of evidence and clue for the detectives, they have absolutely nothing to apprehend me! Yes, I will stick to my original story. If they ever come back again, I will tell them the same stuffs I told them before. Acting innocent is the only way out of this mess I've created.
It seems that I have to start rehearsing as soon as possible. Once they see a flaw through my lies I'm doomed for sure. I should have a funeral for Patrick. And from now on I'll be wailing loudly when night comes, so that my neighbours will have the impression I missed Patrick dearly. Yes, yes, that's what I'll do!
